Which character do you relate the most to?

I've always felt that I related to McGonagall. She was the first character I fell in love with. I feel like she's such a three dimensional character, serious on the outside, but has a big soft spot. I am the same way, I appear quite strict, afraid to break the rules, but at the same time I can be a bit of fun, in my own way. Also, with her pottermore background, I feel I can relate to her even more.

How did you get to become a fan of HP?

When I was 8 years old, my mother got me the first book and I struggled even getting through the first page due to a difficulty with learning to read. I was tested for dyslexia and they found nothing wrong with me, but at the same time I wasn't able to comprehend the idea of phonics due to switching from a school system that taught sight reading, to one that taught phonics. Being discouraged, I put the book down for a while. When I was about 9, my brother's best friend had a birthday to see the movie, and I was invited. After watching the first movie I was hooked, and as soon as I went home, I read the book, and this time, I wasn't stuggling, things just flowed. I finished that book in two days time and read the second the book and within a month, I was done with all the four that were released. Harry Potter really was my childhood. The first book was my first reading experience, and the last movie came out the day before I went on my first solo trip to europe no less.

What is your favorite book? Why?

It's hard for me to pick a favorite book because all of them are quite special to me in one way or another, but I would have to say Goblet of fire, because to me it is the climax of the series, the last of compete innocents before Harry really has to grow up. It was the last time when people didn't fear you know who. My second favorite, however, would have to seven because it really filled most of the plot holes in the series, made me think back to other books, which I loved.

Who is your favorite character? Why?

My favorite character is Minerva McGonagall. I just have loved her from the first time I truly read the books until that last book with her last scene. She has always been there for all of her student's but at the same time, she never babied them and let them make their mistakes. I love how she watched over harry like that, but at the same time didn't put up with a lot of his nonsense. I always loved to imagine her life outside of school to and when pottermore came out, that was the thing I was most excited for, her background. From what I know now, she is probably one of the strongest females in the book, both physically and mentally. She took for stunners to the chest and lived, and through all her suffering, from all she had to go through pre potter, I respect her even more since she never showed emotion about that or any sign about it.

Which house are you a member of?

Slytherin. I am very ambitiousness, and hat not being the best at whatever I do. I also am very very selective about who I'm best friends with since I only want those who can be honest with me. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to all people, I usually don't shut up, but I do not reveal personal problems to those I've not know for a long time. I am also quite cunning and witty, quick to think. Before nursing school, I could ace a test without studying, write an amazingly creative paper in one night and then some. I never though I was a snake, but I am QUITE proud to be one.

Hi I'm Lorraine Ruth! Harry Potter was the first book I was actually able to read by myself since I struggled with reading from age 5 to 8. I'm currently studying to be a nurse and work as a nursing assistant part time at Morristown Medical Center.
