What we're about

Hey Storytellers & Story-listeners!

We meet monthly for an entertaining event with heart: storytelling.

It's a creative detour from the whizz and beep of our digital, urban lives. We come together as strangers, exchange stories, and somehow leave a bit more connected through our shared human experiences.

If you gotta story, we gotta stage! BUT, if you don't have a story - please come and enjoy listening.

You'll be inspired by the tales of ordinary Berliners going through extraordinary moments in their lives.

THE BEAR. true stories. told live.

Each bilingual evening consists of 8 randomly chosen stories in English and German. These amazing true personal stories are told live without notes. Each storyteller has the stage for 7 minutes of fame and glory!

Live music and lively audience interaction connects the evening led by the two co-hosts Dyane Neiman (in English) and Michael Rost (in German). Just for fun: Three pairs of judges, choose the evening’s favorite story. Winners are invited for a Grand Slam on June 14, 2019.

If you would like help with getting your story ready for the stage, please contact me: dyane@thebear-storytelling.de

See you with or without a story at our next THE BEAR Meet Up,

Dyane.

STORY LAB new! Here you can test out your story idea for The Bear show on February 15th in a supportive, honest atmosphere. The story topic is HANDMADE: stories of self creation. You can find more information here. https://www.thebear-storytelling.de/events/2018/february __________________________________________________________________ How Story Lab Works Storytellers bring story ideas that explore the monthly topic, sometimes in the most unusual ways. These stories are in German or English, for an adult audience, and are true, personal stories - that means experiences that happen to you, not your sister! The session's story coach offer exercises to help spark story ideas and refine what you already have. The peer feedback is motivating, supportive and honest. Storytelling is a skill and you can get better at it - by doing it, learning more, hearing responses, reflecting, editing, and trying again. Afterwards, you can take the stage at The Bear (third Friday of every month), where fame & glory are yours for 7 minutes. _______________________________________________________________ What is The Bear Storytelling Show?
