Hey Storytellers & Story-listeners!
We meet monthly for an entertaining event with heart: storytelling.
It's a creative detour from the whizz and beep of our digital, urban lives. We come together as strangers, exchange stories, and somehow leave a bit more connected through our shared human experiences.
If you gotta story, we gotta stage! BUT, if you don't have a story - please come and enjoy listening.
You'll be inspired by the tales of ordinary Berliners going through extraordinary moments in their lives.
THE BEAR. true stories. told live.
Each bilingual evening consists of 8 randomly chosen stories in English and German. These amazing true personal stories are told live without notes. Each storyteller has the stage for 7 minutes of fame and glory!
Live music and lively audience interaction connects the evening led by the show host and Bear Dyane Neiman. Just for fun: Three teams of judges, choose the evening’s favorite story. Winners are invited for a Grand Slam every June.

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
Some stories are made of secrets. Some are made of shame, pride, fear, love, grief, or simply never finding the right moment to say it out loud.
This September, THE BEAR kicks off Season 12 with an evening of true personal stories that have never been told before, not on our stage, not anywhere. Stories that have been sitting quietly, waiting for the right room to land in.
Our storytellers will be drawn at random from our legendary top hat. The only rule: it has to be untold.
Come as you are. Bring the story you've never shared. Or simply sit back and listen. We carry these together.
🎤 What this event is
An evening of true, personal storytelling, told live on stage. No scripts. No acting. No fiction. Just real people sharing something they've never said out loud before:
- the secret they've kept for years
- the thing they never told the person it was about
- the moment they finally understood something about themselves
- the story that felt too small, or too big, to tell
- the almost-confession that never made it out
Some stories will be funny. Some raw. All of them human. Music for the evening comes from James Harper, setting the tone for the night.
