The proliferation of cameras and sensors has led to explosive growth in image data—and tools and services to manage and extract value from it. Used for years by industrial and manufacturing companies, computer vision (CV) has emerged as the primary method for capturing, processing, and analyzing static images and real-time video to extract vital information for fast decision-making.
Join the Computer Vision Roundtable hosted by TIBCO Software with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to discuss topics including:
- Real-world application of computer vision in a variety of industries
- The role cloud and edge computing plays in a successful CV strategy
- Challenges with developing, managing, and deploying cloud-to-edge Machine Learning models
- How best to harness the potential of computer vision within your organization

This year we launched a new Dr. Data Science series that explores a real-world data science project end to end. We'll take a comprehensive and detailed look at the work of the data scientist by examining each stage of a complex project, from inception through to deployment. We'll not only cover the classical phases of data science — including exploration, data preparation, feature generation, modeling, testing, and model ops — but also look at what happens when the right data isn't available, avenues of exploration don't yield results, models aren't accurate enough, and requirements change.
In February’s session we took a quick look at how clustering could be used to explore the complex datasets in this project. And, with the data transformations that we discussed in March’s session, our clustering became much more accurate. But traditional k-means clustering still didn’t meet our requirements — selecting the value of k is too difficult, and the number of clusters can still be overwhelming for the end user.
Join us to see how we used advanced clustering techniques to provide remarkably efficient and intuitive exploratory dashboards.

Edward Tufte, John Tukey, Stephen Few, Ben Shneiderman. These are just a handful of data visualization leaders that offer ways to improve visual perception. In this session, we'll review some of their ideas for creating impactful visual analytics in TIBCO SpotfireⓇ software. We'll also discuss technical tips for creating better overall cohesion across your dashboards. Topics will include contextual communication, precision, detailed styling, and other tips.
What is Dr. Spotfire?
Dr. Spotfire is a program from TIBCO aimed at helping new and advanced users. The program is hosted by Spotfire Experts in Data Science and Customer Success. The program consists of two parts:
1. Feature Sessions: Monthly 30-minute live webinars to help users on extended topics, and unique analytics challenges.
2. Quick Tips: Weekly 5-10 minute YouTube videos to help users with day-to-day Spotfire skills
During the Feature Session webinars, attendees are invited to participate in a Live Q&A on the session’s topic. For questions outside the Feature Session topic, users may ask directly in the TIBCO Community “Answers” section and tag with #DrSpotfire.
All Feature Session and Quick Tip videos are published to the TIBCO Spotfire YouTube Channel. Subscribe to it and stay updated with new content!
