Monthly Propagation Sunday: Winter Veggies

  • Sep 15, 2013 · 3:00 PM
  • Marianne's

Our goal is to start a winter garden with you all with a focus on ethnic and unusual plants. We will have presentations by our members of veggies of their homeland, share seeds and starts. Please bring your knowledge and seeds/plants to share. If you feel moved to do a longer presentation, please let me know so we can co-ordinate a time schedule. Marianne: [masked] or (619)[masked]
We will have potting soil and seeds on site and a donation is appreciated to keep things going.
As always, goodies make a Sunday afternoon so much more fun. Please bring something if you can.

Hi Marianne, what were the names of the presenters at this meeting again? Did they have a seed company?

The daughter's name is Bie-Ha Ma. don't know her dad's name. They don't have a seed company. I ordered from a company specializing in Asian seeds and you are welcome to their catalog or to seeds I have...

I think Paula asked me about where to get the free mushroom compost.
Here's a link to the farm where we got it:
And a video of our first trip:

It was a unique and special experience to listen and learn from Bie-wha and her father. His information was priceless and I loved their energy. They both were so very generous on many levels.

I'm bringing watermelon for goodies and lemon grass for starters.

I have about 7 nice pallets that are marked "heat treated" which should be fine for planting in. Please let me know if you'd like one for planting strawberries or whatever. Thanks!
