An evening to get together to discuss open technologies, and socialise as techies!

THIS MONTH - we are hosted by the amazing folks at CodeClan Edinburgh . Please use the CodeClan entrance for access - buzz to be let in :-)

We meet monthly to talk about anything in the open technology scene - open hardware, open source, community, and makers.

This event will be a full talk on GraphQL, with Douglas McCallum:

Is GraphQL a REST killer or just a brief flash of brilliance before joining the smouldering pile of seemed like a nice ideas? What is it and how do you use it?

You will get a brief overview of Facebook's Open Sourced REST alternative and how to use it in the real world, which is the one thing most GraphQL talks miss out on. GraphQL takes a schema based approach rather than a data based approach.

We will kick off at 7pm with the following programme:

  • Opening notes
  • GraphQL - REST Killer or Newest Fad?
  • Questions
  • Closing notes

Do bring any snacks and refreshments you would like. There will be some provided as well :-)

The Codebase event will be followed by further opportunity to chat and socialize at the nearby Blue Blazer pub.

We look forward to seeing you all!
