Do you have a child that is interested in computers and learning to code? That's awesome, bring them with you to family code! Kids ages 8-12 are invited to join you and Tech Talent South for an afternoon of code on Wednesday from 4:00pm-5:00pm during our FREE 4-week Family Code Program ( This is a great way to spark your child’s interest in STEM and to get an early start at developing a truly valuable skill set. Each class builds on the week before, and we would love to have you and your child join us for all 4 sessions. Curriculum/Schedule: Week 1, Wednesday July 9th: HTML Week 2, Wednesday July 16th: CSS Week 3, Wednesday July 23rd: Ruby Lesson 1 Week 4, Wednesday July 30th: Ruby Lesson 2 What to bring? Since there are a limited amount of laptops accessible at the library, please make sure you and your child comes with a personal laptop (Chromebooks are acceptable) and a power cord for the laptop. Welcome to Tech Talent South New Orleans! Here you can find information about TTS hosted events, alumni updates, and information on how Tech Talent South is empowering folks to do BIG things! Tech Talent South's mission is to develop more tech talent in the South through immersive beginner-focused programs teaching web development and computer programming. We want to do our part to help put NOLA on the map as the next big tech hub and empower creative thinkers in the area with the skills they need to drive innovation. In our Code Immersion Program, we teach the following: · Ruby on Rails · Domain Modeling · HTTP and "RESTful" Design · HTML/CSS · Javascript and AJAX · How to utilize APIs

Students come out of our program with a tremendous foundation in web development and the know-how to code, design, and ship dynamic database-backed web applications. Creative thinkers and entrepreneurs are empowered with the skills to quickly develop their ideas and push them live to the web.
