  • The adventurers stay around and work out long term chores for their plans with the Tavern and Tavpieros has lots of trouble finding his way in this new alienated form as an Acid Elemental. He tries to stay out of the way as much as possible. The rest of the party is met by the Inquisitor once again, that is now sent by the empire to collect the adventurers. Everyone prepares, and Flampan especially makes sure he has a proper appearance for a meeting with his Uncle the Emperor of Hammer's Landing.

Once the adventurers are all suited up and have dealt out all the instuctions for the coming period to the crafters all busy crafting their items, they gather and teleport using the Inquisitor's staff to Hammer's Landing, in front of the Grand Cathedral of Moradin. The adventurers get some time to do business and they try to ask around to see if they can find the Family to who te Cold Iron Axe belonged in the hopes of getting a reward for it. But they don't have much success. Apparently the public is preoccupied by political talking points and as usual markets are in near frozen state.

The adventurers proceed to go to the Emperial Ceramony. They are let into the inner keep. A marvelous place with magnificent sculptures of marbel and crystals. The ceremony hall lighted by several Continual Flames was a marvel of marbel statues, so much details everywhere like the rock itselve was alive. The adventurers arrive after a long walk and are greeted by a hall filled with party ready dwarven nobility and at the royal seats the Emperor, the Empress and the Bodyguard of the Emperor an famous powerful Paladin. During the ceramony the advenrurers bump into a familiar face. Norbag, the Dwarven Diplomat they met at the Ape City, that had disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The adventurers where not ready to trust this man after that strange incident with the illusions concerning the appearance of the Dwarf's followers. Especially the follower that took the appearance of the dead Barbarian that the adventurers later found.

But Norbag seems friendly for the time being. The adventurers stay alert. During the ceramony Flampan notices something suspicious and starts to detect thoughts on the crowd, drawing some awes and sighs. He notices quickly that 6 Dwarves where showing extremely hostile thoughts and emotions especially towards Flam Pan. This seemed out of place. Somewhat shocked by these finding Flam Pan warned the party that there was an attackk against the empire about to happen. And not not soon after indeed the 6 Dwarven announced their presense and started to attack both Flam Pan and Norbag, and immediately the rest of the party sprung into action to aid them. The Assassins had daggers that had a nasty poison on them. Wyvern Poison. It destroyed the constitution. Very deadly. With great capability the party take down the assassins, aided by the Emperors bodyguard as the Emperor sits on his throne shielded by an Ortiluke's Resilient Sphere, protected from all harm.

-Will the adventurers manage to actually sit through downtime without being lured into abandoning town and go on more adventure?

    - What will the reward turn out to for saving the Dwarven Empire from the Demonic Invasion?

Maybe a good addition to the story would be that because Flanpan was monitoring the assassins he was not surprised and managed to stop most of them before they could actually act!

Now Dan is curious. Did the assassins come and kill us because of Flanpan, or because we saved the Dwarfen Empire from their plan (the box/Demons if it was their doing)? Beatus still thinks it has nothing to do with her ;)
