What we're about

Welcome to the Tacoma Japanese meetup! This is a group for meeting other people in the area that are also interested in Japanese culture and/or language. We have three main event types:

1. Basic Japanese Study: For these events members study together working through the Genki textbook series. Events are typically held once a week and are great for beginning level Japanese.

2. Japanese/English Conversation Exchange: These meetups have designated times (usually 15-30 min) of Japanese and English conversation intervals. This event type is great for intermediate to advanced Japanese levels or native Japanese speakers looking to study English. Events are held once every two weeks.

3. Cultural Exchange Dinner: Dinner events are a chance for everyone to get together roughly once a month. There is no formal lesson or study plan with this event, just a chance to meet other people in the area interested in Japanese culture.

And more! Using the Japanese communication app "Line" there are a few active group chats for the group:
