Speedy Tuesday

What's better than the New Year and all those resolutions that come with it?

The fact that from here on out, we will be running into longer days and better weather!

It's the little things that make my day.

I was talking to a friend about running the other day (shocking I know) and she mentioned a workout she had done and I thought it sounded like just the thing!

We'll start with our mile warm up, because let's be honest...it's still cold out there and we need to warm up!

Then we'll do our drills.
And because I just don't think we look like big enough dorks while we do them, I'm going to teach you some new ones! (Plus, I'm bored of the ones we've been doing. Variety is the spice of life/running)

Then we'll get right into the action!

I have a new whistle and I'm going to use it! What we're going to do is when I give one long whistle you're going to run at a Short Tempo pace (I'll go into more detail explaining what that is at the track) When I whistle again you get to recover.

When I give two short whistles you're going to SPRINT!
(Don't worry, I'll keep these short)
Another two short whistles and you get to recover again.

I'll be doing this for approx. 3 miles worth of distance for those who track that sort of thing.

It's going to be awesome:)

And if we all hate it, then I'll never do it again. But you've got to try stuff to find out what works. Right?!

Trying new things can be fun. So when do we get to try visualization runs from a nice shady hammock with a drink that has an umbrella in it?
