What we're about

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life sometimes it's hard to find the time to get away, let alone all the time to plan and organize a trip. That's what TIOA is for. We have a list of trips available and all you have to do is find the time to join us. If there is a trip you want to do, then let me know and I will figure out the logistics and post it. If you are a beginner and don't feel comfortable, or don't have the proper gear this is the perfect way to Take It Outdoors in a safe, fun and friendly way. If you aren't a beginner and are looking for a challenge; we have those trips as well.

When you come out on a trip you will find that TIOA is a fun loving community from all walks of life. Come on out and join the fun!!

See you soon!!

NOTE - A lot of planning goes into the trips we run. Please be considerate of all the members and the organizers of the group and do not be a "No Show". I know that sometimes issues spring up (family issues, medical, work, etc.) and that is completely understandable. In those cases please send a message saying you won't be able to make it. If you don't plan on attending, don't intend to mark it on your calendar or don't intend to make a best effort to come to the event please, please, please do not RSVP "yes" until you are ready.

Thank you much!!

Wednesday night paddle - Kayaking at Blue Marsh Recreation Area

Blue Marsh Lake Old Church Road Parking Lot

Join TIO for our weekly social paddle. This week, we'll gather at Blue Marsh Recreation Area to enjoy the lake for 1-1.5 hours (generally about 4-5 miles). Expect an evening of camaraderie along with excellent views of the evening skies, herons, cormorant, and more. This is a social gathering but TIO instructors will be with the group if you desire guidance and skills instruction. If you have your own equipment, there is no cost for this paddle. To rent is $30. If you are renting, please put your email in the rsvp so we can send you the rental info. If this is your first TIO paddle this year, you must also complete our waiver. https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5ef248817969c/web/ These paddles often fill fast. Help keep these events friendly and free. Update your RSVP if your plans change. Don't be a No-Show blocking someone from enjoying the evening with the group.
