What we're about

Take a Hike has a relaxed approach to hiking, you'll find us a genial, friendly group where everyone is made to feel welcome. We enjoy walking in and around Hampshire taking in the outstanding natural beauty and its surrounding counties. We try to walk in all weather conditions wherever possible and where its safe to do so.

Our intention is to organise walks for around 25 member's mostly on Sundays suitable for those who are comfortable and physically fit to complete walks from 8 to 12 miles at a moderate pace. We normally stop for elevenses and later for picnic lunch which you bring yourselves.

Most walks start from a car-park in the middle of nowhere. If you don't have transports you will find it difficult to attend. So please bare that in mind when joining. But some member will happily help out if you are near to them, Just post a request for a lift on the walk you are interested in doing and you might get lucky. But please offer them petrol money which is divided equally between the driver and the passengers, with the rate currently being 30p per mile or a drink at the pub.

We are open to all aged 18 or over. To our four legged friends, you are more than welcome on the walks as long as you are social with other dogs and are happy to go on a lead around live stock.

All members must provide a recognisable picture of your face, without pets/mates or long distance pictures This is so that we can look out for you and welcome you at any events you attend. If you want anonymity then this group is not for you. If you came back more than once I might start remembering your name. But please don't be offended if I don't remember you because you've not been awhile.

Teresa.
