What we're about

Part I - About Toastmasters Part II - What to expect at each meeting

Part I: Looking to develop speaking and leadership skills? Ace a job interview? Ignite your career?

This year, Raleigh Talkmasters wants to help you achieve your challenge. Whether that challenge is leadership skills, getting a new job or just igniting your career. We hope to help you #AchieveYourChallenge this year!

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our membership is 292,000 strong. These members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 14,350 clubs in 122 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.

A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. We are all here to practice.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.

We meet every Thursday morning at 7:15 a.m at The Cardinal at North Hills

We are an open club and encourage prospective members to visit & join us for coffee afterward at Allscripts Cafe.

To learn more about our club, check out our club website:

Part II - the average meeting has a turn out of 15-20 members. Each meeting runs according to an Agenda that is prepared a month in advance, so don't worry! However, you will be given a brief opportunity during the meeting to introduce yourself to the group. For additional speaking, you will have the chance to volunteer for Table Topics after you observe what it is.

Upon arriving at the meeting, you will be greeted and connected with a member to sit with if you'd like to do so.

Welcome to our new Raleigh Talkmasters home! Raleigh Talkmasters is a Toastmasters club. *****Important Note***** Due to the current COVID 19 pandemic, we are meeting virtually via zoom. Please contact Scott at [masked] for log in link. We meet each Thursday for a prompt 1 hour to help get over fears, maximize time, and become more effective speakers. Please come join us in the fun. And yes it is fun, because all the members make sure it stays fun. Make sure to be early as we start promptly at 7:15am! Visiting a club is an exciting first step in reaching your goals. There’s no need to feel pressure to participate at your first club meeting – you can simply observe if you wish. And since every club is unique, it’s OK to visit several clubs before you decide to join the right club for you. Have a great first meeting! We love chatting to guests and fellow members after the meeting. For respect for our meeting space, we can gather in the front atrium, parking lot, or (all our favorites) for coffee after the meeting. Check out our Members (http://raleightalkmasters.toastmastersclubs.org/meetourmembers.html) online or afterward at Allscripts Cafe around 8:30am each Thursday morning. *Please note we observe the Wake County School System Closure system in case of any weather (or other) events that may close the school system. If Wake County Schools are closed (or delayed) we will not meet.
