Lightning Round Talks

Details

For this meetup, we'll be doing another Lightning Round meetup! This will be a collection of 1-15 minute mini-talks by different members. If you'd like to present, please message me soon to reserve your slot.

The talks do not have be Android related. They can be about anything that would be of general interest to someone involved in Android development. In fact, there's only one real rule for the mini-talks -- they're limited to 15 minutes, including questions! With so few rules, everyone should have something to present. Even a quick demo of your latest app discovery would be appropriate. Other possibilities include a development trick you'd like to share, a marketing or project management approach you've heard about, help with a particular development problem you're having, or perhaps an opportunity to show off your latest cool Android hardware.

Some of the talks so far include:
• Using Butterknife --Gaby Quiles (https://www.meetup.com/members/209249579/)
• Using Android Auto in the Marine Industry -- David Rothwell (https://www.meetup.com/members/216916879/)
• Firebase Cloud Functions: Making your Firebase Func-y -- Mike (https://www.meetup.com/members/197727989/)
• Messaging Techniques -- Randy Dalrymple (https://www.meetup.com/members/174587692/)
• Exploring the Compiled Android App -- Connor Tumbleson (https://www.meetup.com/members/199801801/)
• Searching History with GIT -- Harvey Chapman (https://www.meetup.com/members/7406267/)
• Genymotion Overview -- Dave Cagle (https://www.meetup.com/members/13540505/)
• Something about Marketing or Branding -- Trevor (https://www.meetup.com/members/183204573/)

While we normally limit recruitment to before or after the actual meetup talks, we'll allow one scheduled recruiting mini-talk during this meetup. (While not a requirement, we never turn down tasty treats).

This style of meetup only works well if we get a good collection of mini-talks and all of us should have something relevant to share with the group. While this group doesn't have any required dues, it is expected that each member contribute to its success. One of the easiest ways is to do a short Lightning Round talk. Past talks even included a LEGO robotics demo by our youngest member; if a 7 year old can present, so can you!
