Dachshunds in need

Hello group! I want to send an update on the Dachshunds that we have that need forever homes. We have Marty that really needs his perfect match. He is very sweet and cuddly. He was used to his former owner, that had to move into an assisted living facility, catering to him. I am sure someone in the group would make a perfect match or knows someone who would be a perfect match. Let's make it happen. I also received a message about a young man, Dutch. Today, I found a message about a girl on our message board.

Marty:

Marty is an 11 year old red short haired male doxie looking for a forever home. He would do best in a home with adults, especially with someone home most of the day and a backyard to play in. He is sweet and cuddly and wants lots of attention. Marty is in very good health and not on any medications. He gets along well with other dogs (he's been hanging out with 3 foster siblings, all doxies). His owner had to give him up after she moved to a senior retirement living facility. If possible, his former owner would like to stay in touch with Marty's new owner(s) to know how he is doing - she misses him terribly. He is up-to-date on vaccines.

Dutch:

We are in search of a home for an 18 month old Dachshund. Dutch is a beautiful black and red, with all the attributes you would look for in such a dog. He has not been neutered and has his papers. He was rescued from a very abusive home. He spent his first year on a 3 foot nylon leash staked in a back yard in Mississippi. So he was never able to be a puppy. Dutch is one of the most loving and caring dachshunds we have ever encountered. He does have some fears, but not any that would be a danger to anyone. Brooms seem to be the main one. The family has 2 other dachshunds that get along with him very well, they just don?t have the proper time needed to work with him; he is now going through his puppy stage. He has gained about 6 ? 8 pounds since the rescue. Dutch needs to be in a good home with another dog that wants to play, he can literally jump 4 foot straight in the air. He has come a long way from his horrific life to a dog that knows he has it good, always wagging his tail and wants to lick you all the time to show his thanks.

Below are listed his pros and cons
Pro:
Very Energetic
Beautiful Coat
Great around other dogs
Loving

Cons;
Still working on the house breaking slips up every now and then
Loves Shoes

Sweet Pea (I don't have her actual name)

This is posted on the the discussion board:

A friend has a 5yr old female long hair dachshund looking for a home. She is a sweet, friendly, beautiful little girl.

The wife has a day care, the business is growing and there are a bunch of kids under 4 yrs old running around the house. They don't think it is fair to keep her trapped during the day and she doesn't like it. But there are just too many kids now bombarding her. She is very friendly, but they are afraid she will get hurt and feel threatened (if) too many kids approach her at one (time) and start pulling at her, etc.

They do not want any money for her, they just want a good, loving home. She is bilingual - understands english & spanish
