Off I Go Into The Wild Azure Yonder...

Details

Session Details: Are you supporting systems both on-premises and in the Cloud?
As systems transition to the cloud, database administrators are relieved of the drudge work like building servers, backups, patching, etc. and end up spending more time doing automation, monitoring and performance tuning.

In this session, learn how a database administrator with little prior knowledge of “The Cloud” transitioned to supporting a large scale PaaS system used by AT&T, Bell Canada, and Vodafone.
Topics to be covered will include how to navigate the new Azure portal efficiently, the fundamentals needed to setup Application Insights to monitor availability and performance of a globally deployed application to ensure it remains healthy and available to end users. Coverage will also include Application Insights Analytics, Azure to PagerDuty integration, and Azure PowerShell to manage database pricing tier and cloud service deployments.
