Michael Keleher presents:
Finally, A script that predicts the future...
. . . Estimating Filegrowths resulting from index operations
Have you ever come into the office after the index rebuild jobs only to find that your data drives have been run out of space? You can build scripts to simulate the file growth that will occur as a result of the index rebuilds for all databases on an instance and cross apply it to the drives and mount points on your systems to predict which servers are at risk of running out of disk space on the drives. The purpose of this presentation is to share all of the information you will need to build a script that will allow you to avoid data drive issues. Even if you are not a Database Administrator, you will learn more about the internals of indexing in SQL Server to help identify and resolve performance issues.
