Unfortunately we are going to have to cancel October's meeting. We hope you all are staying safe and look forward to talking with you at November's meeting.
Several people have asked about resuming in person meetings. At the moment, our location sponsor is going to reevaluate reopening to outside organizations in the Spring of 2021, so we will be remaining fully virtual until the early part of next year at least.
Would there be interest in organizing an outdoor in person event? Possibly a restaurant patio, or something like that, for those that are comfortable with and would like to link up in person? Would like to know what the interest is from the group, versus just continuing to wait it out with virtual only events. We will get a survey out to the group the week of the 25th, but wanted to mention it here so people could think about it.
Lastly, from a personal aspect, please continue to be safe, whatever you individually feel is appropriate for your situation. I lost an employee of 5 plus years a couple of weeks ago to a combination of COVID19 and then pneumonia. He had done well against the pneumonia improving daily for about a week and a half, and then a sudden turn for bad due to lungs being irrecoverably damaged by COVID19. The reports went from "He is doing well and spirits are high, and he should be able to leave the hospital in a few days" to gone in 4 days.
Stay safe and look forward to talking to everyone in November.
