REBOOT! Getting (re)started with native iOS development

Details

It’s been long overdue, and it’s finally happening: The return of Tampa iOS Meetup! Since we’re staying safer at home, it’ll be an online event — and if there’s enough demand, we’ll do it weekly.

Tampa iOS Meetup has a new medium-term goal: to help you weather the 2020 job market as a successful developer. There will soon be a lot of developers looking for work, and companies are going to be slow and deliberate when hiring. You need something to help you stand out from the crowd, and knowing native mobile development and having an app in the Store will help you stand out.

This reboot session will be the first in an ongoing series of meetups where we’ll build a number of complete apps, including:

• Bullseye: A simple game whose real purpose is to teach you the basics of iOS development and responding to user actions.
• Checklists: A “to-do” list app, in the same spirit as the “Reminders” app that comes with your iPhone (hey, “to-do” lists are a big app category).

Tampa iOS Meetup’s format isn’t your typical lecture, but more of a “code along with me” exercise, which means you learn by doing, and you have a functioning app at the end.

We’ll end the session with a quick discussion of what you’d like to see Tampa iOS cover. Join us next Sunday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m.!

The event will be available online on this Google hangout:
