TBUX is excited to have members Anitra Pavka and Joey deVilla as our speakers for our first meetup of 2020!
About the Meetup
The latest version of Apple’s iOS operating system has many new features that make it more usable for people with special needs. This presentation will give you a tour of Apple’s assistive technologies, show some new tools that will help you to create more accessible software, and even demonstrate how you can write mobile apps that make use of these new accessibility features!
About the Speakers
Anitra Pavka started her career during the dot-com bubble as a front-end web developer and designer. Usability and accessibility were her speciality before those things were cool. (Yes, they're cool.) She was a contributing author of the HTML5 Cookbook and a technical editor of the Universal Design for Web Applications book. She presented at the SXSW Interactive conference in Austin, TX three times and also speaks at local events. Anitra is active in the technology, agile, and user experience communities in Tampa. She's currently a Senior Manager and Scrum Master at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Joey deVilla is a mobile developer at Lilypad by day, and a rock and roll accordion player by night. He’s a creator on the Android and video teams at the mobile tutorial site http://raywenderlich.com, where you can find his Beginning ARKit course. His team was one of the finalists at Startup Bus 2019, and he recently finished co-writing the 8th edition of the iOS Apprentice book. He also publishes the weekly listing of Tampa tech and entrepreneur events on his blog, Global Nerdy.
