Pioneering UX Research: Lessons from a remote startup on infusing a company culture with a user-centered mindset and showing the value of research

The purpose of this talk is to explore ways to overcome business and organizational challenges by infusing a company culture with a user-centered mindset and by demonstrating the value of UX research and strategy to the c-suite and other stakeholders. Racine will illustrate the main themes with stories "from the trenches" from prior experience working with remote startups. There will even be cool graphics!

Racine Marcus Brown is a business anthropologist, UX researcher, and mammal wrangler (cats and impish little primates mostly) with extensive research experience and strong recent tech experience. Prior to recent consulting work in the TrustTech, FinTech, and academic assistance service spaces, Racine was a health services researcher at the Tampa VA, led a large service design project that doubled as a dissertation, and served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. In his spare time, Racine enjoys reading, gardening, quality family time, and rambling discussions about life.
