Forgiveness seems like one of the hardest things to do because we feel if we forgive the other person for what they have done to us then we are letting them off the hook. If the person is a family member or someone we see a few times a year or more we pretend to forgive them but we are really fostering anger and resentment underneath that fake smile and happy mask.

The truth is – anger and resentment end up hurting ourselves (not them!) and it shows up in our lives in different ways. We become hateful, hostile, and even develop disease in our bodies. Holding onto anger and resentment is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

It’s time to forgive!

Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps us go on with our lives. So it’s time! It’s time to forgive others – not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace.
