What we're about

TeamAIDAsha is a beginner-friendly marathon/half-marathon training and fundraising program jointly organized by the volunteers from Boston/MIT chapters of Association for India's Development (AID) and Asha for Education. We train runners for their full or half marathon races and runners raise donations for AID and Asha. Both beginner and experienced runners are welcome.

Hello everyone, Spring is just around the corner. Time to put those new year resolutions into lasting action :-) ​Would you like to do something challenging for a great cause, improve your fitness, make amazing friends and have the time of your life this summer? If yes, we would like to invite you to join TeamAIDAsha organized by Association for India's Development (AID) and Asha for Education. Learn more about the 17th year of this training and fundraising program at our FREE information session. Who: Everyone is welcome, no prior running or fund-raising experience required When: Sunday, April 7th 2019, 2 pm Where: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Building 4, Room 370, 77 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA Parking: Please arrive about 15 minutes before 2:00PM to look for parking, find the room (MIT room 4-370), etc. Street parking is free on Sunday. You may be able to find spots on Memorial Drive, Massachusetts Avenue, Vassar Street or one of the other side streets. Details: TeamAIDAsha trains runners to run marathons (Marine Corps Marathon, Baystate Full or Half Marathon) while raising funds for AID and Asha. Over the last 16 years we have trained more than 380 runners to complete their first full/half marathon and raise more than $890,000 for developmental and educational projects in India. We are preparing for a bigger and better season this year. Beginner-friendly training: short run/walk

Group run logistics: Please come prepared for a short run (or run/walk). Leave your bags, etc. at home or in your car so that you can run easily. Please make sure to arrive 10 minutes early to sign in, warm up, etc. Coaching team will brief you at the beginning of the run about the distance (about two to three miles) and direct you through stretching exercises. It is absolutely OK to run/walk in the beginning. Many of us are first-time runners. So please don’t be shy :-). We will have a group run on every Saturday during the season (April through October). Please check this meetup event on every Friday to confirm the location and time. We make regular changes as the season progresses. Make sure to RSVP at this meetup event and checkin when you come in for the group run.
