Tech Brekky!

Join us for breakfast and some talks about technology! This brekky will be focussed on Front End Web Development. Our speakers are Erin Zimmer educating us on web components and Michael Milewski & Selena Small sharing about web testing. Here is a little snapshot of what you will be in for!

Erin Zimmer:
Web components are finally here. They very nearly enjoy support in all modern browsers, and they integrate well with other frameworks and libraries. There a bunch of libraries available to help you start creating your own web components, but today we're going to build a web component completely from scratch - just you, me and an IDE.

Michael Milewski & Selena Small:
Come on a journey of building a modern web app test first. Everyone likes tests but too often people get stuck on what to test and where, get put off by flaky tests, write tests after the fact and wonder why things are hard to test, or simply miss out on whole bunch of tests and just hope things will work. Watch us drive out the building of an app with multi-layered outside-in behavioural driven design (BDD) - it's bound to be a good time.

The event starts from 7:30am with talks kicking off promptly at 8am. Stay around to finish your brekkie and ask questions of our speakers until 9:30am!
