Fundamental Java Bootcamp Orientation
>>>>For those attending Java Fundamentals Bootcamp.<<<< Jump start your transition into tech! Info: Apply at: Scholarships: This is an orientation to meet with Community Director Evelyn Van Til, instructors and other students, tour our classroom space, and get everything set up to hit the ground running the first day of class! Honestly, we don't want your head spinning any more than it needs to be on day 1! At the same time, if you're a little confused when going through this stuff, don't stress. That is why our class exists! The resources below will help get you up to speed on some common programming terminology and concepts and allow us to really hit the ground running as a class. However, if you don’t at least attempt to complete the pre-work you will be behind on day 1. Be prepared to talk about one challenge or concept you struggled with. • Required Pre-course Work (DO THIS BEFORE ORIENTATION): Here is a guide to environment setup that our students have found helpful: Environment setup is always a bit painful. There will be error messages, and some folks will likely have some issues. Don’t fear! We will get you through it! If you continue running into errors, you can email the curriculum team for extra assistance. If possible, provide a screenshot of your error as an attachment to the email. You can reach us at [masked]. Also, just in case your local environment does decide to act up, we recommend going ahead and signing up for Cloud9, a free remote/cloud environment and an alternative for the classroom.
