What we're about

Welcome to Tech Talent South - Hartford!

Here you can find TTS-hosted events, Alumni updates, and information on how Tech Talent South is empowering you to do something BIG!

Each Tech Talent South meetup gives attendees the opportunity to network and connect with other life-long learners and lovers of technology and startups. This is an inclusive group, welcoming both newbies and seasoned members of the community. All of our Meetup group members are invited to share their knowledge with the group by leading a talk or workshop.

Our Meetups are centered on our goal to contribute to the local tech and startup scene in Hartford. Through free community events we connect with people who share these interests to provide valuable information and new knowledge, as well as our course offerings.

Tech Talent South's mission is to develop more tech talent through immersive beginner-focused programs teaching web development and computer programming. We empower creative thinkers in the Hartford area with the skills they need to drive innovation. Students come out of our program with a tremendous foundation in web development and the skills to code, design, and ship dynamic database-backed web applications. Creative thinkers and entrepreneurs are empowered with the skills to quickly develop their ideas and push them live to the web.

In addition to offering free camps that kids can attend with their parents (see more in the "Meetups" section), Tech Talent South offers a variety of courses for adults.

How to Build a Successful Career in Tech - A Fireside Chat with Cara Stellato

There is no question that as the technology industry continues to grow, tech jobs are in high demand: every day there is a different programming language to learn or area of specialization to focus on. While it can be exciting to imagine all of the possibilities, it can also be daunting to figure out which direction to pursue and where to focus your energy in order to grow your career. Luckily, success stories are all around us, and no successful person got to be where they are without support and guidance from others. That's why we cannot wait to introduce the Hartford TTS community to Cara Stellato, Co-Founder and VP of Production and Technology at Lumi Agency, an innovative digital agency located around the corner from Hartford's TTS campus in downtown's historic Pratt Street district. Please join us for a fireside chat with Cara, where she'll share her story of how she grew from a self-taught web developer studying American History in college to a co-founder of multiple thriving digital businesses - and the obstacles she crushed along the way. Whether you are already working in tech or looking to break in, Cara has a wealth of experience and knowledge to help you on your tech journey!
