You have a great idea for a tech product/ service that can create social change. But you need budget to get it off the ground and a model that can sustain it ongoing. There are a bunch of ways you can do this and we're bringing in a range of experts that can talk about how.

We'll also have community announcements, drinks and food, and a chance to meet people and connect.

PANELISTS:

  • Jess Jackson - Investment Director at GC Angels *
    Jess has a wealth of experience working with tech businesses and startups, particularly with a focus on positive social impact.
    Jess has completed many multiple early stage equity investments and managed a portfolio of £5m+ before joining GC Angels. Jess is also
    leading on an initiative to bring together female capital and female founders, alongside professional services to address the diversity imbalance in investing.

*Dama Sathianathan - Bethnal Green Ventures *
We are an early stage investor in ventures using technology to radically change people’s lives for the better.

  • Peter Carway - Investment Director - Praetura Ventures *
    Pete has held several Finance Director positions in software and other early stage service businesses. Following Praetura’s investment in Peak.AI he held a Board position for 3 years, raising over £5m of investment and overseeing a 9x increase in company value. After the launch of Praetura’s maiden EIS fund in May 2019, Pete was part of the team that invested in Manchester based Dr Fertility and Steamaco and London based Futr. He currently holds a Board seat at Dr Fertility and is supporting their development of a digital healthcare platform for fertility.

Charlotte Ashton - Senior Director - Palatine
Charlotte has a background in M&A advisory and has headed up the origination efforts at Palatine since 2014 working to build a pipeline of potential investments through developing relationships with ambitious management teams.

Palatine has £570m under management across 4 funds, making 32 investments since 2007 and 12 exits. The £100m Impact fund was raised in 2016 and invests in businesses that can demonstrate a social or environmental impact in the way they operate.

TIMINGS:
6:30 - Arrival for food, drinks and networking

  • We have alcohol, non alcohol, vegetarian and vegan. Feel free
    to bring your own!
  • If you don't fancy networking, the venue has plenty of space for
    you to sit and chill.
  • Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult
    7:00 - Speaking stuff starts.
    8:15 - speaking stuff ends. Time for more drinks, food and networking
    9:00 - event close

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We'll also have space for brief "community announcements" on the night, where anyone will have a chance to speak for up to 2 minutes on something that helps more people do good with tech.

Please keep your RSVP up to date as we often have high demand, but a fair few no-shows on the night. And we need to manage the food order. We don't want waste! :)

There is on street pay and display parking near the venue and multiple nearby car parks.

The venue has a wheelchair ramp, lifts and a hearing loop. If you have any other accessibility requirements, please get in touch with us ahead of the event and we'll do our best to accommodate
