This group will be focusing on building a community of people in the tech and innovation worlds in Downtown Brooklyn. We will be putting on interesting talks, pitch contests, and other events to provide intelligent programming after work for the workers and founders of the tech companies of Downtown Brooklyn.
This is an initiative of the Make It in Brooklyn program, a part of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.
Gideon Lewis-Kraus’s recent article, “Is Ancient DNA Research Revealing New Truths---Or Falling into Old Traps?” - which reports on how new techniques for analyzing DNA from ancient bones is revolutionizing paleontology and profoundly reshaping our understanding of ancient history - created a stir in the scientific and anthropological worlds when it was published in the New York Times Magazine in January.
Now, he's coming to Downtown Brooklyn as part of the Make It in Brooklyn meetup series for an in-person talk on the topic and the reporting that went into the piece. Come, hear his story, and stay for drinks to meet other science, ancient history, and technology lovers!
The talk will be hosted by our partner, Spaces, one of Brooklyn's newest coworking options.
