Automate Yourself
Phil Johnson, Lead Software Engineer at BGL Group, will lead a workshop style introduction to creating a Google DialogFlow Chatbot Engine and integrating it with Facebook Messenger.
The session will show:
• How to create automated conversations using DialogFlow including how to capture details from user messages and customise responses based on the context.
• How to integrate the chatbot engine into a Facebook Messenger app so users can communicate with the chatbot engine via a channel they are used to.
• We are using Facebook Messenger to integrate with as it’s very accessible and most people know what it is. You can easily take these learnings and integrate your chatbot engine with other channels including Slack, Telegraph or voice activated devices such as Google Home.
• The session is accessible to people with varying skills from professional developers to hobbyists. We will show you how you can enhance your chatbot conversations with code so anybody who wants to delve deeper following the session knows where to start.
• If you have time it will be useful prior to the session to create developer accounts at both https://developers.facebook.com/ and https://dialogflow.com/
