What we're about
Tech4Good Bristol is a free quarterly event for people who are interested in using digital technologies (web, mobile, data) for social good.
Whether you work or volunteer at a charity, community group or non-profit organization, are a programmer, a data geek, curious about tech, an individual with a great idea, or a social changemaker, Tech4Good Bristol is here to help you make connections and create a community around innovating for good in Bristol and the surrounding area.
These events are great opportunities to learn what others are trying, see successful projects and platforms, hear about developing technologies, make new friends and collaborate on new projects.
Our events are a mix of show and tell sessions, speakers on topics relevant to bringing digital innovation and tools to the sector, and focused workshops to learn particular topics in more depth.
Every event regardless of topic will be a fantastic opportunity to reach out to others in both in the NFP and technology sectors in Bristol, as we will include a “Community Shout Out” segment at every event where you can spread the word about your project, tool, app, or idea and connect with others who are interested in learning more about it.
Tech4Good Bristol is part of the global NetSquared movement of innovators in more than 70 cities around the world. NetSquared gathers together nonprofits and activists, tech leaders and funders, and everyone who's interested in using technology for social change.
NONPROFIT STAFF will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for those who aren't experienced with technology, and many chances to ask questions of tech-experienced nonprofits and experts.
TECHNOLOGISTS AND CONSULTANTS will find opportunities to put your expertise to social good, as well as the potential for lasting relationships (be they paid or volunteer) with leading organizations in your community.
ACTIVISTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS will see and be given the opportunity to present on successful uses of technology for social change. Not content to simply focus on "shiny tech," we'll explore what the true potential for social change is in each case, where community organizing work can be made more effective, and where it will have to push technology forward.
