Digital DeLand Monthly Meeting

Tech DeLand is becoming Digital Deland. It's official! We took a vote and it was unanimous to change the name from Tech DeLand to Digital Deland, so watch for a change in this meetup name.

We meet the third Wednesday at every month. This month's meeting January 19 will again be at the Abbey Bar on Woondland Avenue at 6 PM.
6:00 get refreshments at the bar (maybe try the amazingmead selection or stick with old standbys
6:10 1 minute introductions
three 10-minute round table discussions

• Wordpress with focus on new "blocks" (leader Maggie)
• NFTs (leader Alex Morse)
• VPNs (no official leader - Jim & others are requested to discuss what they are doing

Digital Deland will meet on the third Wednesday of every month. Digital Deland’s mission is to provide an opportunity to learn and network about enabling technologies and tools that help businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofits - all organizations and individuals - meet their goals. Technology is moving faster than ever. Digital DeLand offers an opportunity to keep up with the latest trends and advances.

Future programs will feature web development, virtual operations, social media, data management, geospatial/mapping, videography, graphic design, mobile apps, and (maybe most importantly) “getting unstuck – where to go for help”.

All of us face technology demands that stretch our knowledge and resources. According to organizer Maggie Ardito” Digital DeLand offers a productive, convenient and fun way to keep in touch with specialists. When I founded a nonprofit seven years ago, I quickly discovered that, even with a tech/business background, the demands of the St Johns River-to-Sea Loop Alliance far exceeded my capabilities. A big challenge is always picking the right tools because even free tools come with a steep learning investment. I chose the wrong web development platform and now we’re paying the price of conversion. Access to a diverse and supportive team of experts could have avoided years of frustration, expense and time. That’s just one example of how everyone can benefit from Tech DeLand.”
