What we're about

Tech for Good Bath are events and talks for those interested in how technology is used within social impact projects and organisations.

Whether you are a charity, community group, social enterprise, tech whizz, digital marketer, or just someone interested in social tech, these are free events to help make these connections and create a community around digital for good in the Bath and surrounding area.

These events are informal with a mix of general speakers from the sector and local charities and projects, specific discussions on tools and techniques, show and tell sessions, and most of all a chance to share ideas, your project and foster a supportive, collaborative community.

Tech for Good Bath run quarterly in sync with our friends over at Tech for Good Bristol so our events will not clash and we encourage you should attend both!

Our past themes have included data protection, cyber security, making your technology accessible for all, mapping skills and resources, digital in mental health, and digital in context of youth and kids. Take a look at notes from our previous events by accessing the Message Board (https://www.meetup.com/TechForGoodBath/messages/boards/forum/28470137), or our blog (http://www.thedotproject.co/blog/).

Tech for Good Bath is part of the global NetSquared movement of innovators in more than 70 cities around the world. NetSquared gathers together nonprofits and activists, tech leaders and funders, and everyone who's interested in using technology for social change.

NONPROFIT STAFF will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for those who aren't experienced with technology, and many chances to ask questions of tech-experienced nonprofits and experts.

TECHNOLOGISTS AND CONSULTANTS will find opportunities to put your expertise to social good, as well as the potential for lasting relationships (be they paid or volunteer) with leading organizations in your community.

ACTIVISTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS will see and be given the opportunity to present on successful uses of technology for social change. Not content to simply focus on "shiny tech," we'll explore what the true potential for social change is in each case, where community organizing work can be made more effective, and where it will have to push technology forward.
