Techie Brekkie #13 // The Competition // Lightning talks + charity bake off!

Details

Techie Brekkie # 13 // The competition & charity bake off // Wednesday 11th December, Start (arrival) 08:15 to 08:30 / Finish 09:15.

For our December Techie Brekkie, we'll be running a number of Lightning Talks.

The line-up so far:

Natalie Lewendon // I'm normal, what about you?
Joseph Ward // Hacking for muggles
MC Jacob Burton & DJ Sam Grant // The sound of development
Tania Nolan // What is performance testing ?
Alex Birch // Runtimes

We have two spots left (we can run a total of 7 lightning talks) so if you'd like to enter the competition and be in with a chance of winning a prize, please email [masked] with your entry, topic/title of the talk.

(Please note, the format for your talk should be presentation style but without slides or computer aided visuals. You're free to get creative with hand-outs!)

The prize for the winner will be M&S vouchers to allow for some reckless high-end Christmas shopping, spend it all on mince pies & brandy if you wish! Naturally, there’ll be a prize for the runner-up. The winner will receive a £50 Mark & Spencer voucher, the runner-up receiving a £20 M&S voucher.

Prior to the meetup (or maybe on the morning using the audience!) we’ll create a completely non-biased judging panel to select the winners. True to the name, each lightning talk should flash by in no more than five minutes. You got to be in it, to win it - I stole that!

Also, on the morning we'll be providing a range of savoury goodies alongside cakes as part of a charity bake off. We're raising money for the Julian Trust homeless shelter https://www.juliantrust.org.uk/

So please bring along some change (or notes!!) and walk away with freshly baked goodies and a feeling of well being! All donations are welcome and Scott Logic will double all money raised during the morning/day! Thanks in advance for your support!

Naturally, the usual spread of pastries, coffee and tea will be available courtesy of Scott Logic.
