We're excited to present Silicon Valley's 1st Annual Timmy Awards (http://blogs.techinmotionevents.com/sv-timmy-awards/) in an effort to recognize the best places for technology professionals to work. We asked the Silicon Valley tech community to weigh in by nominating companies they believe deserve to win and then voting for the finalists!

Organizations and individuals will be crowned the winners of each of the categories below on September 22nd. The evening will begin with cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, music and product demos from the best of the best in Silicon Valley tech.

Kerry Davis (https://www.engadget.com/about/editors/kerry-davis/) is a producer, writer and host for Engadget.com, hosting the site's daily show, In Case You Missed It (http://www.engadget.com/icymi), which aims to highlight the interesting science and technology news of the day. She's lived in San Francisco five years now but loves telling Californians she hails from North Dakota because of the faces she gets back.

She joined the tech news world at IDG News Service as a one-man band five years ago, shooting and editing her own video pieces, then produced videos for TechHive, Macworld and PCWorld. She was a local TV reporter before getting her master's degree and diving into tech and loves hiking and sailing with her husband on the weekends. Sometimes the cat comes along too.

Marc immediately fell in love with radio and found his passion in broadcasting. He joined the Mix 106.5 family in 2011. Marc has been hosting the Mix Midday's for the past 4 years. He currently lives in South San Francisco with his wife and their 2 little ones.

Pope has been the male half of the San Jose-based "Pope and Marla Show" on Mix 106.5 for three years. Before making the move to the South Bay, he was a also a morning show radio DJ, as well as a traffic reporter and public address announcer in Southern California. His passion for radio began in middle school, when he would use his cassette player to record "shows" of him telling jokes in between songs. He has also sung the national anthem at sold out hockey games and for the San Jose Earthquakes. Pope lives in San Jose with his wife and 8-year-old dog.
