We’ve seen rapid growth of digital marketplaces in the past few years, with every new startup taking a different approach on how to seed, reach liquidity and ultimately grow their network. Despite these differences, there are a number of guiding principles that, when followed, set you up for a higher likelihood of success. Orit, Liron and Alona will share their experiences, lessons and stories as product leaders grappling with how to leverage these principles to build compelling marketplaces.

About the speakers:
Orit Balicer Tsur, is a serial entrepreneur and a product leader with vast experience in building marketplace based platforms. Orit co-founded Keeprz (acquired by Como) and served as its Chief Product and Marketing officer, and was head of marketing of Soluto. Orit has recently returned from the Silicon Valley where she built new products for Lyft.
Liron Markus, VP Product at Fiverr, is a mathematician and a software engineer by training, though decided to focus on the business side very early in her career.
Before joining Fiverr, she spent 10 years in Boston, where she got her MBA at MIT, and later ran products at various organizations, including large multinational corporations, and small, early stage startups.
As Fiverr's VP of Product, she is responsible for applying a holistic point of view to the company's marketplace, making it a thriving ecosystem, which helps people all around the world getting things done
Alona Stern is a product and design thinking consultant. She has served in senior product management positions in a number of consumer and manufacturing companies, most recently working for a number of years at Freightos, building the first online marketplace for freight services. Alona taught design thinking & prototyping in the Masters program at Bezalel Academy of Art and has an MBA at MIT with a focus on marketing and operations, and her B.A. at the University of Chicago. She’s fascinated with building online marketplaces and networks, seeing them as a meaningful way to create and sustain competitive advantage.
