In 2011 Marc Andreesen famously explained "Why Software is eating the World" and postulated that "every company needs to be a software company". Like everywhere else software had already been the engine of the telcommunications business with Business and Operations Support Systems (BSS/OSS) and "Everything over IP" brought a convergence of traditional services with internet applications. Trends like cloud-computing, SDN and NFV are now turning the very infrastructure into software. So while the physical infrastructure will always remain the foundation of telecommunications, the domain of software is getting ever larger. Understanding and managing large scale newtworks through software is the focus of our business and so we wanted to create a meetup for telecommunications professionals to talk about best practices and new tools to design, build and run that software and how it enables new business models or teaches old infrastructures new tricks. We plan a first meeting for the first quarter of 2018 and would like to hear from you. Looking forward to meet you.
