What we're about

JOIN US FOR TUESDAY NIGHT MEDITATION AT 7PM (Currently online via Zoom)

Based on the Joy of Living (https://beta.tergar.org/joy-of-living/) teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

Our meditation group explores meditation techniques designed to calm the mind, open the heart, and awaken wisdom.

Our meetings are free and open to all.

During our Tuesday night meetings, we offer 20 minutes of meditation practice followed by either a book club presentation or a YouTube teaching of Mingyur Rinpoche's. We have small breakout groups for group discussion. Each meeting is a stand-alone meeting so even if a participant hasn’t been reading the book we’re focusing on or isn’t familiar with Mingyur Rinpoche’s teachings, we still encourage you to attend. We select excerpts for our topics of discussion so everyone feels comfortable and is on the same page, so it is not necessary to buy or read the book in advance to participate in the discussion.

Every Tuesday afternoon we email a Tergar Portland newsletter with the Zoom meeting link and a summary of the evening’s topic.

Tergar Portland offers free 20-minute meditation sessions at 7:00 PM every Tuesday night followed by a discussion of topics related to Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche's teachings or a selection from the current book club reading. The selected text is sent out to the mailing list prior to each meeting. All are welcome to attend.

If you have questions about this, or want to receive our monthly email newsletter, please contact Marc at marc@tergar.org
