What we're about

This group is open to anyone interested in learning about and practicing awareness meditation. Each meeting includes some basic instructions and guided meditation. This approach, based on the accessible teachings in The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness, by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, focuses on using our daily lives and the challenges we face to cultivate a peaceful mind and open heart. Awareness meditation draws on the wisdom of ancient meditation traditions as well as neuroscience to train the mind to be calm, focused, attentive, flexible, and efficient.

Awareness Meditation with Tergar Vancouver Practice Group

Hello, we are the Tergar Vancouver Practice Group and we meet weekly to practice meditation as taught by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, who is known for New York Times bestseller The Joy of Living. We're particularly excited these days because Mingyur Rinpoche will visit Vancouver June 21 and June 22 (at UBC). We expect both events will sell out. Meditation allows us to calm the mind, open the heart, and live more fully in the present moment. These meditation techniques can be practiced by anyone, regardless of faith or cultural background. Whether you’re new to meditation, or an old hand, please join in. We meet regularly to explore the richness that meditation can bring to our lives. Cushions & chairs are on hand. Donations are welcome to cover venue costs. Contact: vancouver at tergar.org If you'd like, for you to get a sense of the meditation, go to https://learning.tergar.org/course_library/intro-to-meditation/
