API Testing Using Karate DSL
Details
TestHeads is back with another fantastic event as part of our lockdown webinar series. This month we are delighted to welcome the brilliant Stephen Meehan who will be presenting on "API Testing Using Karate DSL".
Here is what Stephen has to say about the talk:
API's are ubiquitous in the software industry. As testers we need to ensure that the API's our team delivers meet our customers' requirements; we also need to quickly catch any regressions in our API's. For testers, one of the nice features of API's is that they are relatively easy to automate compared to the application UI for example. There are some excellent open-source frameworks available for testing API's but the one that I have found most suited to the needs of our team is Karate DSL (Domain Specific Language). Karate DSL combines a readable Given, Then, When syntax with powerful matcher assertions.
In this talk, I'll demonstrate some of the power of Karate. I'll show its application to a real-world API. I'm hoping this talk will convince you of the value of Karate as a tool for testing API's and give you enough information to start using it in your own teams.
About Stephen:
I started out as a tester further back than I care to admit but most days I still feel like it's day one since there is so much to learn. I love to hear others' take on testing and how teams can best deliver quality software in a timely and sustainable way that brings real value to the end-user. I have a special interest in test automation and enjoy sharing what I've learned with others.
We are delighted to welcome onboard Martinsen Mayer as a new sponsor of TestHeads - www.martinsenmayer.com
I will be beginning a new role myself doing Testing Recruitment as ever with Martinsen Mayer next week so thanks to my new employer for their support
Hopefully See You Tuesday,
