This is an 11 day guided expedition to climb the north side of Elbrus between 24 Jun and 4 Jul 2020 (ignore Meetup dates). We will be using Exped Adventure and it will cost £2000 (including £100 discount), but excluding costs for flights, travel insurance, visas, tips.
This will be a bespoke trip for 3 Peaks and Beyond members.
Elbrus is one of the 'Seven Summits' and North route is the more adventurous route. We start at the valley floor and walk through wilderness to reach the summit. It will involve ice axe and crampons, but is suitable as a beginners introduction to winter mountaineering.
The angle of ascent isn't steep and the crevasses are small, however, summit day is a tough 12-18+ hour day with 2000m of ascent. We will do the trip in true expedition style carrying all our gear between Base and High Camp.
As part of the trip there is a training weekend to ensure we have the appropriate training for high altitude mountaineering and glacial travel. The dates for this will be agreed at a later date.
A deposit of £350 is required by 30 Sep 19. Exped Adventure need a booking form filling in per person:
In the "activity booked with us" section pls write: 'Three Peaks Group booking Elbrus North' to ensure you are booked onto this exped!
The remaining £1650 needs to be paid by 29 May 2020. Exped Adventure
are happy for people to split the final payment into different amounts as long as they have an agreement on dates and amounts in advance (Exped Adventure can also set up direct debits for monthly payments). Payment details can be found, along with the terms and conditions here:
Exped Adventures are working with Nomadic for a quote re flights to Moscow and onward to Mineralnye Vody. Further details later.
