Welcome to The African Zest Club!

Membership is open to people of African origin and those from outside the continent interested in learning about African culture. Club Members can choose to attend (&/or plan + host) community events throughout the year where we can connect with friends, meet new ones, have fun and experience African Bliss.

Cost: Club Membership is free

Event fees: Some events are free, some paid, some by donation.

Dating etc: Please note that the purpose of this group not dating or hooking up. Feel free to mix and mingle, but harassment will not be tolerated - you will be removed from the group if a complaint is received about you.

Ongoing meetups (as of year 2020):

1. Picnic at the park + Let's talk about Africa - every 3 months - A short presentation about an African country will be given, followed by a discussion about the information presented. We will review the food and the atmosphere of the place we visit. *This will be hosted at an African/Caribbean restaurant or interesting local spot in Toronto.

2. Virtual dance lessons - every other month - learn how to empower yourself through African dance. +participate in dance challenges.

3. All other in-person meetups are on hold till further notice.

Types of memberships: *please visit the website for more details about each type.

1. Drop in/Attendee: Attend meetups, events and gatherings. No need to register for membership.

2. Club ambassador: Assists with either the planning or hosting of events. While at events they represent the club and answer questions from event attendees. (a 3 month commitment is required.)

or Event Volunteer: Volunteer at an event of your choice (commitment depends of the events and availability.)

3. Club collaborators & assistants: For anyone interested in assisting us with planning events or collaborating on projects, fundraisers, community outreach etc... (Please contact us directly.)

4. Sponsor/Donor: Monetary donations or event supplies, equipment or professional services. (Please contact us directly.)
