Two Special Performances!
The Taming of the Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew
Saturday, March 17th at 7:30 pm
Marcus Center's Vogel Hall

One of the best-loved "Battle of the Sexes" is back, with a Wild West flare! Cowboy boots, whips, and lassos give a biting punch to this classic. Sparring lovers Kate and Petruchio duke it out on the western frontier. Will they ride off into the sunset or die tryin'? The verbal duel never stops as National Players presents one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies. Giddyup!

Of Mice and Men
Of Mice and Men
Sunday, March 18th at 2:00 pm
Marcus Center's Vogel Hall

From the author of The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men marks another National Players classic tale. In this tragic and endearing story, we follow the mismatched friendship of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers in Depression-Era California. George has big dreams and a tiny frame, while the large but simple Lennie seeks the comfort of everyday little pleasures. Just as George's dreams seem within reach, his compassion is tested through Lennie's mistakes. What makes true men and what makes true friends?

About the National Players...

In operation since 1949, Olney Theatre Center's National Players is America's longest-running touring company. Comprised of young professional actors, each year the company travels throughout the country performing two plays in repertory - one Shakespearean play and one dramatic play. National Players reaches students and families who might otherwise have a limited opportunity to see live, classical theater. In addition, Players conducts workshops with students in such theater-related areas as Shakespeare, playwriting, acting, stage combat, scene analysis, and improvisation. Committed to the development of young theatrical talent and audiences, National Players' tours celebrate the experience of theatergoing by presenting the world's greatest dramatic literature.
