TAG Special Meetup - Microsoft Machine Learning Talk - May 24th

In this special meetup co-hosted with our friends at Microsoft and the Toronto Analytics & Technology Meetup Group, The Azure Group members have been offered an opportunity to participate in a unique Machine Learning tech talk at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. If you are a developer, data scientist, IT Pro looking to expand your areas of knowledge or simply want to understand some of the cutting-edge techniques used to build smart and secure data-driven solutions at scale, please RSPV for the event.

Talk #1: An Introduction to Classification by Graeme Malcolm

Speaker Bio: Graeme is a Senior Software Engineer in Microsoft’s Commercial Software Engineering group, specializing in data science and artificial intelligence. Most recently, he was the curriculum lead for the Microsoft Professional Program in AI. His passion has always been about helping developers succeed with technology.

Talk Overview: Machine Learning is at the heart of modern artificial intelligence technologies, and classification is one of the key forms of machine learning that we use to empower software to make intelligent decisions based on observed data. In this session, we’ll explore the fundamental concepts behind classification, and see how easy it is to train, validate, and use a classification model.

Talk #2: AI development Lifecycle by Vinnie Saini

Speaker Bio: Vinnie is a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect/Senior Data Scientist at Microsoft Canada. With a Master's Degree in Applied Computing from University of Toronto, she has been leading several research groups and presenting talks around Cloud as an enabler of Advanced Analytics. In her current role, she is focused on Data & AI practices and working with partners across Canada, helping them design and deploy innovative solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies.

Talk Overview: Vinnie will share her recommended AI development lifecycle for structuring data-science projects. This will be followed by a talk/demo on Microsoft’s recently released offerings on ML Services platform for data scientists and developers to build intelligent solutions, analyze data, and orchestrate the machine learning development lifecycle—with the confidence that your data is protected with enterprise-grade security.
