Topic: Azure Resource Graph: Get instant access to resource information across all your Azure environments
Description:
Governance in Azure is a key aspect of Azure Management that many companies fail to understand and implement correctly. The results can range from non-compliance with external regulations and internal policies to accidentally deleting resources to deploying costly resources outside of approved budgets or in the wrong Azure regions.
The solution to this problem is Azure Governance—the ongoing process of managing, monitoring, and auditing the use of Azure resources to meet the goals and requirements of your organization. We will take a look at Azure Policy and Management Groups to understand what they are and how to use them effectively for your Azure deployments. We will also explore the latest Azure governance services, Azure Blueprints and Resource Graph and understand how they can be used to create fully compliant environments and to get visibility into all your resources—fast.
Presenter: Arlan Nugara (https://www.linkedin.com/in/arlannugara/)
Arlan Nugara is a Cloud Solution Architect that speaks widely on Azure and DevOps. He has been awarded an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) in Azure for the past 2 years by Microsoft for his expertise and contributions to the technical community across the US and Canada. Arlan’s original background was in software development with a specialization in enterprise software development and architecture for financial institutions over the previous 20 years. Arlan’s focus over the past 2 years has been the building of Azure Virtual Datacenters where security is a key driving factor for a client’s migration to the Azure cloud. A critical part of this approach is the building of a landing zone as a configured environment with a standard set of secured cloud infrastructure, policies, best practices, guidelines, and centrally managed services.
