Eric Leuthardt will share the Gutenberg editor and how to use it! A number of people struggle with the Gutenberg editor, and Eric is going to show us a number of techniques to use it better!
WordPress migrated to the block editor (sometimes known as Gutenberg) with the release of version 5.0. With the recent releases, we have seen it grow to a useful and powerful solution that we all should become familiar with. In the future, we will see advancements that give page builders a run for their money.
We will be looking at the block editor, from the basics of finding and using what we were familiar with under the classic editor (TinyMCE) to some of the newer and more powerful blocks available to us. We will also look at some new things on the horizon for the block editor.
This meetup is scheduled to be recorded. A big thank you to our volunteer, Paul OBrien who makes possible our posting of video recordings.

Ask Us Anything WordPress!
Register for it by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/Th6AZUbS2GoiCEJz5
This is a virtual meetup on Zoom for you to ask your WordPress questions and help you fix problems with your website.
The answerer for this meetup will be Gen Herres, owner of Anphira Web Design & Development, and a WordPress veteran of nearly a decade. She's built and remodeled 100s of WordPress sites.
Don't have a question? You can still come and see what others ask - you might learn something!
We're asking you to submit questions in advance (please use the form at https://forms.gle/Th6AZUbS2GoiCEJz5) so that we can gather common ones together to answer them. But if you'd like to share your screen when it's your turn during the meetup, just let us know on the registration form!
You'll be muted on entry, we'll be using the chat to queue people up/ask follow-on questions.
The meetup will run 7pm ET until 8pm ET or until we finish up the questions, whichever comes first. If you pre-submitted your question and are not present, then your question will be skipped.
Want this meetup recorded & shared? Visit https://www.anphira.com/baltimore-wordpress-meetup/ to contact Gen for sponsorship info.

Accessibility on a Deadline
This presentation is designed to provide practical guidance for website owners, copywriters, designers, and virtual assistants who are tasked with creating accessible content under tight time constraints. It will cover practical strategies for including accessibility in projects with a tight deadline and with people who have little to no prior accessibility experience.
By the end of the presentation, participants will have a better understanding of strategies and methods for meeting accessibility standards while respecting deadlines. It will cover how to equip accessibility novices so they can include accessibility in their projects from the outset, rather than as an afterthought.
Presenter: Gen Herres
Gen Herres is the owner at Anphira, LLC and organizes the Baltimore WordPress meetup group. Prior to getting into WordPress development more than a decade ago, Gen was a developer for Boeing on the B-1 Bomber and was a lecturer at the Ohio State University in the computer science department.
Gen has been featured in podcasts and won the 2022 member of the year award in the #1 WordPress community. She is very active in WordPress groups encouraging other developers & designers. She has been incorporating accessibility into websites for a couple of years now and is a strong advocate of processes that move accessibility to earlier points in a project and make accessibility easier to understand for novices.
