I decided to start this group because there isn't one in Bath for social get togethers, walking, dining, film, music gigs etc.

Skittles Evening: Harington Club, BATH

All you have to do is throw high density rubber balls (4.5" diameter) at wooden pins and try to miss the gaps! Skittles alleys can vary considerably in length but are usually around 10 metres. ARRIVE BY 7.15pm for a 7.30pm PROMPT START. A match fee of £2-3 (depending on numbers attending) may be requested to cover the cost of a 'Sticker Up'. PLEASE BRING THE EXACT AMOUNT IN CASH. The Harington Club also prefers to be paid in cash for drinks to save on admin costs.

The Harington Club is a Private Members Club so everyone who is not a Member is effectively an invited guest. A 'House Rule' is that coats should not be worn in the bar so please leave them in the cloakroom on arrival.

Join me at the lovely Walcot House, for their ‘Xmas Jamboree’ on Friday 19 December – Tickets cost £25 and include 'a glass of complimentary fizz, and canapés’ if you arrive before 8pm.

The event is in their downstairs club venue, Lomah, and there will be live funk, jazz bands, and a DJ.

Doors open at 7pm (they have an over 21s policy). You’ll need to book a ticket in advance, on the link here:

I’ll be there from 7pm and I’ll be wearing a bright orange scarf so you can spot me. I’ll text where I am once I arrive. I’ll be staying till 10.30pm.

Free music evening at the Boathouse B-o-A with Blue Soul

Come and join us for the last music night here before Xmas, The 5 piece band Blue Soul make a welcome return playing a wide variety of funky soul classics from across the decades and maybe some great Xmas songs too. The Boathouse is a great venue for live music with ample free parking, plenty of space and a nice friendly atmosphere this is sure to be another great evening.

As a small child, Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole and raised among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father who transpires to be a cynical businessman called Walter Hobbs (James Caan). After a DNA test, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy - with chaotic results!
