[BKTK] Presenting the Presenters 2

From: Diego F.
Sent on: Tuesday, September 28, 2010 10:06 AM

Tomorrow will be our next event, “Wingbar Wednesdays #1”! Yesterday I introduced you to Wes, one of our speakers for tomorrow. Well, today I want to introduce you to our two other speakers: Lisa and Rowan.

Lisa LaCour is VP, Marketing at Outbrain (, a discovery engine for interesting blog and publisher content. Outbrain powers recommended links (“people who like this story, will also like these:”) on over 50,000 blogs and websites, including CNN, USAToday, US Weekly, Slate, Curbed,, etc. and reaches over 150 million UVs each month.

Outbrain believes (and has data to prove) that readers will engage with interesting content whether it’s editorial or paid. Lisa will demonstrate how Outbrain is working with web publishers to increase traffic and revenue while providing users with a more interesting experience.

Rowan is the founder of Snapr (, a new service for sharing geo-tagged photos. Snapr brings together peoples shots on a map that is organized by time and place, it also allows you to share your photo's to other social/location services.

Rowan Will be talking about the process so far of getting a startup of the ground for the first time, where we are at now, and our upcoming API release.

Remember, tomorrow is our event. RSVP here: if you want to come. Matt, who co-organizes the group with me will be there. Ask for him when you get there. We’re really looking forward to tomorrow!

If you want to speak in a future event, do not forget to write to [address removed] or to the organizer email in the meetup group.

Best Regards,

Diego Ferreyra

Director of New Media
