The Detroit Burns Club annual dinner-dance honors the poetry and legacy of Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Dance to the Big Band sounds of The Rhythm Society Orchestra. Entertainment also provided by The Detroit Caledonian Pipe Band & Highland Dancers.
Burns wrote in the 1700's and is widely considered to be the "national poet of Scotland".
Some of his famous poems:
Comin' Thro the Rye (1782)
Halloween (1785)
Auld Lang Syne (1788)
A Red Red Rose (1794)
O my Luve's like a red red rose
that's newly sprung in June
O my Luve's like the melodie
that's sweetly play'd in tune!
