About us
The Boston Screenwriters Group (BOSSG) founded by Deborah Shariff and Co-organized by Jeffrey Cheng Stewart and Kenyatta Hoskins is an opportunity for serious writers to come together for peer-reviews and constructive critiquing of screenplays. Each member will have an opportunity to message the hosts for each event for their screenplays peer-reviewed by members who RSVP to the online Screenwriters Forum events and pitch script ideas to fellow writers to help flesh them out. In addition, we will also have short scripts and scenes acted out by professional actors in table reads of select work from members. Hope you can make our meetups and see you virtually!

URGENT SECURITY NOTICE — PLEASE READ
It has come to my attention that members of the Boston Screenwriters Group are receiving emails from the following address:
thebostonscreenwritersbookclub@gmail.com
These emails have reportedly been sent using my name and/or representing themselves as connected with the Boston Screenwriters Group.
I DID NOT SEND OR AUTHORIZE THESE EMAILS.
I am Professor Deborah L. Shariff, Founder and Administrator of the Boston Screenwriters Group (BOSSG), and I want to make this absolutely clear:
“The Boston Screenwriters Book Club” is NOT an authorized program, email account, or official communication channel of the Boston Screenwriters Group.
I have personally spoken with my longtime co-organizer, Jeff Stewart, who has played an important role in maintaining BOSSG during my absence from active leadership. He has confirmed that he has no knowledge of or involvement with this email account.
If you receive a message from thebostonscreenwritersbookclub@gmail.com, particularly one claiming to be from me, inviting you to discuss your book, screenplay, or other work, please do not respond, click links, provide personal information, send manuscripts, make payments, or share any confidential or copyrighted material.
Please preserve the email and forward a copy or screenshot to me so that we can continue documenting these unauthorized communications.
I am taking this matter seriously and am reviewing the appropriate steps to protect our members, our organization, and the name and reputation of the Boston Screenwriters Group.
After many years of building BOSSG as a community for writers, actors, filmmakers, and other creative professionals, I will not allow our members' trust—or the name of an organization we have worked hard to build—to be misused.
Official BOSSG communications will come through our established Boston Screenwriters Group channels or through communications specifically verified by me and our authorized leadership team.
If you have received one of these suspicious emails, please contact me. Even if you did not respond to it, I would like to know that you received it.
Thank you to the members who contacted me directly rather than assuming the messages were legitimate. Your vigilance helped bring this situation to our attention.
Please look out for one another, and when in doubt, verify before responding.
