Hello Boston Vimmers! Sorry for the long hiatus, but I'm happy to say that we are back, we have a great new space in thoughtbot's 6th floor to meet, and we have two great talks lined up!
Aaron Bieber (https://twitter.com/aaronbieber) from Wayfair is back to talk to us about his recent experience using Emacs (what?!?!). That's right, Emacs. Aaron decided it was time to see how things looked on the other side and will share what he found, what he missed from Vim, and maybe even a few things we can bring back to Vim from Emacs. Check out his excellent blog post on his experiences (http://blog.aaronbieber.com/blog/2015/01/11/learning-to-love-emacs/) for a taste of what Aaron will be talking about.
Chris Toomey (https://twitter.com/christoomey) from thoughtbot (https://thoughtbot.com/) will be talking about mastering the Vim language. Vim's core is the amazing command mappings and text objects that allow for countless combinations to define precise edits. Learn how to master the built-in commands, motions, and text objects, and even how to extend the Vim language for even more power!
Pizza and drinks will be provided thanks to thoughtbot. Food arrives at 7:00pm, meetup proper at 7:30pm. We'll be on thoughtbot's new 6th floor space, same address.
