Drum Circle

Burning Bush Art Gallery

Come and have fun while loosing yourself in the beat of the moment. No Experience necessary. Bring a drum, or choose from our limited selection of percussion.

Short lecture and guided Jhana meditation

Burning Bush Art Gallery

In this meeting we will begin to explore the concepts of dharana and dhyana from the yogic tradition, and hopefully come to apply them in our communal practice. As a regular meeting, we will come to explore meditation from many perspectives, from the esoteric to the practical. We will study the wisdom from respected authors and practitioners. The actual meeting will entail a half hour of presentation to learn more about meditation, followed by a guided beginners approach to jhana meditation which will last about another half hour. In short, jhana is a Buddhist meditation designed to bring pleasure and bliss and ultimately, with much practice, to bring deeper states of absorption. This is a very good meditation for those who want to explore deep meditation or advance their spiritual practice. This group is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Light Gathering

The Burning Bush Gallery

Consistently one of the most popular booths at TheosoFest, Sukyo Mahikari brings "The Light" to the Burning Bush. Come experience the Light, a positive spiritual energy radiated from the hand. Relax and rejuvenate your spirit, as the energy brings about positive changes in spirit, mind and body. Drop in anytime between 7:00 and 9:00. Sessions last from 10-40 minutes depending on number of people. There is never a charge or fee for the Light. Enjoy refreshments and conversation with Wheaton area practitioners, and hear some of their amazing experiences of improved health, harmony and prosperity. Free. If you are unable to attend, you're welcome to visit the Sukyo Mahikari Center in Streamwood on Rt. 59 north of Lake St. during open hours to receive Light.
